Lost along the Wild West Coast cliffs & fog,
Far north of the Lost Angeles cars & smog,
Staggered and haggered made my way,
Up to an old Victorian Mansion light gray,
made from the finest old virgin douglas fir.
She stood there and said, "May I help you sir?"
Looking up into Her mysterious eyes,
deep uncharted waters under blue skies.
All that was uttered was a simple, "Yes".
"Welcome, stranger, would you be my guest?"
"Yes", entering dark portals seemingly so innocent,
Filled with ancient candles and exotic scent.
"Let me take your damp coat and fur hat for you.
Perhaps you would like to remove a shoe or two?
Make yourself at Home, may i get you some
warm tea and Home made fresh baked bread?
"Yes, that would be great, it sure has been a while..."
"Now drink it all up, there's plenty more", with a smile.
She smiled so knowingly, and so pleased with yes thrice.
"Would you like to relax in a soft bed, fresh linen so nice?
"Well, must be going soon, my true love awaits beyond.
She will surely be worried if my arrival is delayed anon."
"Perhaps you can contact Her and She can meet you here?
I have fine communications established, just call Her dear."
"That may be a good plan, and let us give it a try right away.
She has a friend nearby that can tell Her about my delay."
"Go ahead dear, send the message and tell Her where,
so She can know you are alright and sleep without a care.
I will prepare for you a hot bath and fresh clothes to wear.
And that nice soft bed is in the door at the top of the stair."
"Thank You so much, how could I possibly ever repay?"
"Now just make the call and rest, tomorrow is not far away.
Your true love will be in your arms and all will be sunshine.
She will tell you She loves you and that you're "forever mine".
"That is such a sweet thought and I believe it will come true.
I will ask Her to be mine to, and I hope She will soon say, "I do."
"Hello? Yes, can you please give Her my current address?
Great, it is not hard to find, its right on the coast due west."
"Fine, then its all set dear, perhaps a little more tea and cake?
Before I snuff out the candles and your bed to make."
"Thanks that would be nice, the first cups made me hunger
for more, envigorated me greatly and made me feel younger.
"Drink up dear, its the last and it will not keep.
It will help you recover, relax and get some sleep."
"Sure tastes wonderful and I believe I will...
sure need something to warm this feverish chill."
"It will certainly do that and a lot more for you tonight.
You will see, in the morning everything will be alright."
"Hope you find the bedding and nightclothes comfortable.
They're all I have to share tonight, all that are available."
"I'm sure they will be just fine, they're a lot better than mine.
Thank you once again, you certainly are so very kind."
"You're welcome anytime, and the pleasure is all mine.
You will be welcome to return to my Home anytime."
As I laid back in the soft flannels and fresh linens so fine,
something started to overtake me like cheap red wine.
Must be more tired than I thought, I'll just lay quietly back,
and dream nice sweet dreams before I awake at the crack.
"Sleep well and rest your weary body and mind, my dear.
All will be better in the morning, you will see, have no fear.
Oh the dreams so strange, of places unnamed and wild !
I hadn't had dreams such as these since I was just a child.
When will I awake? I am so lost in them and cannot run,
but from what I know not, it just seems like so much fun.
Running back in time thru some forgotten childhood paradise,
such a strange feeling, like I'm changing into sugar and spice.
"Time to wake up dear, the dawn is almost here, lots to do."
"I can barely open my eyes, I'll be ok in a minute or two."
"Take your time, its still a bit early and not yet sunshine."
As I came too, then an awareness of something so fine.
I felt so different, and wasn't sure just what at the time.
"Good morning dear, did you have sweet dreams and fun?"
Why yes I did in fact, I remember feeling unable to run.
"Do you remember anything else dear? Like what day this is?"
"Why no dear, just that I feel rested and ready to start the day."
"Of course dear, I was just checking to see if you are ok.
May I sit beside you on the bed, I have something to say?"
"Sure dear, what do you have in mind, may I ask just this time?"
"I just wanted to tell you I love you and that you're forever mine."
"Why yes my dear, I have always loved you too, that you know."
"Yes I knew the moment I saw you that you would be my beau."
"I was going to ask you today if you'd be mine, please say "I do."
"That is so sweet, and I wanted to ask you the same thing to.
Are you sure you are completely mine? For I am yours completely."
"Yes my dear, I have never felt so entranced, such love sweetly."
"Its going to be wonderful, get ready while I fix more tea and cake.
It will only take me a minute or two, and it will help you to awake."
"Yes dear, but geez I feel so strange, like I shouldn't be here."
"Why that's silly dear, of course you're very welcome here."
"I know, but I seem to have forgotten what happened last night."
"Why nothing happened last night, everything went fine, just right."
"What should I wear today dear, I have no idea what you wish of me?"
"I wish for you to wear the white outfit I laid out for you, do you see?"
"Yes I see it draped over the dressing screen, the one with flowers?"
"Take your time dear, our company won't be here for several hours.
Would you like my assistance with your dressing or fixing your hair?
I would like you to look your best, looking pretty is so very nice to share."
"Oh my, is that the door knocker I hear? They are a little bit early."
"I'll answer it dear, I'm ready and can recieve your guests, really."
"Thank you, I'm busy in here with the tea and cake for everyone."
"Welcome, may I take your coats and hats?" "Yes, Good Afternoon"
"Please come in and make yourself at Home, we'll be with you soon."
"I just came for my boyfriend who called and needed a ride."
"Why I'm not sure what you mean dear, please come inside."
"Nice to meet you, but are you sure this is the place you're looking for?"
"Well this is the correct address that was given to me, and on the door."
"Please, have a seat and some tea and cake while we figure it out.
I'm sure that you will remember what directions were given no doubt."
"Why thank you, you are so kind, I really must find him soon you see,
we were supposed to get married very soon at the chapel by the sea."
"Yes my dear, would you like some more tea or some fresh baked bread?"
"I don't understand, was it the address or the directions that you misread?"
"Why thank you, it was a long ways over the hills to the coast today."
"Dear would you bring my guests some of the bread on a nice tray?"
"Yes, certainly, is there anything else I could get for you my Lady, a nap?"
"No thank you Miss, the tea and bread be fine, but do you have a map?
"Yes we have one here someplace, perhaps its in the den drawer dear."
"Thank you once again, is there a street with a similar name near here?"
"I don't think so my dear, they are all named after different plants and trees."
"Here is the map, and I wish you luck. You may place a call if you please."
"Thank you miss, humm you remind me of someone, I know that voice..."
"Perhaps we have met before, I often travel up and down the coast and west.
"Humm, perhaps I'm mistaken, I can't be sure now, along with all the rest."
"Well, if there is anything else I can do, anything at all, please just say."
"You have been so kind, and I must be getting back, its late in the day."
"Sorry, that you missed your rondevous, perhaps he is waiting for you."
"I hope so, I would sure collapse in tears if somehting has happened to..."
"Now don't think like that dear, here take the rest of this bread with you.
It will help you feel stronger and refreshed, tomorrow you'll feel brand new !"
"Bye, have a safe journey!" "Good bye, thank you for trying to help today."
"Gee, she was such a nice lady, have you two ever met before today?"
"No, but she certainly seemed so familiar, and she seemed to know me."
"Yes she did, but couldn't quite place your voice and you the same I see."
"Oh well, whatever happened to the guests that you were expecting?"
"That was the guest I was expecting dear, thank you for reminding."
