Use of Estrogens, primarily bith control pills and premarin, by men is increasing.
The use by transsexuals has risen dramaticaly over the last few decades.
The use by men who are in heterosexual relationships has also increased.
This use presents some interesting potential interactions related to synchronicity
of the cycles of each partner.
When used in synchronized fashion, the female ovulation corresponds to
the man's highest estrogen level.
This may be counter-productive in terms of attempting to conceive.
It also means that her period occurs during
his lowest estrogen and highest testosterone levels.
This has some potentially negative impacts,
as both could be somewhat more upset and
potentially hostile during simultaneous periods.
It would be interesting to compare this with
sync. & non-sync. lesbian couples.
When used in non-synchronized fashion
quite a different set of possibilities occurs.
Her ovulation is happening when the man has
the lowest estrogen and highest testosterone levels.
This may increase the chances of conception.
Her period then occurs during the man's
highest estrogen and lowest testosterone level.
This may offset some of the potential hostility between them.
These sets of circumstances related to hormonal synchronicity
may have many possible uses,
from birth control, to conception, to domestic harmony.
It may also increase the appreciation and respect between men and women.
As child bearing years pass, and any children grow up and leave,
they will have something deeply in common as well.
More and more women use estrogens post menopause for osteoporosis etc.
and men use them for decreasing prostate size.
Estrogens also have other potential benefits to their hearts and other organs.
The planning of these cycles may play an important role
in their health and happiness in later years.
