A more peaceful and just resolution toMexico's Economic & Financial Situation is urgently needed. Stabilization and improvement in thePeso is very important. Inflation is crushing Mexico's people. This leads to numerous other problems not only for Mexico, but also for the USA and other countries. The vast Imigration Problem and Mexican/USA drug problems are also in need of remedy. One of the roots of these problems is a Foreign and Domestic Debt beyond hope of repayment. This debt not only threatens Mexico's future, but also the stability of The Lenders, primarily USA banks and the USA itself.
The stability of not only the Western Hemisphere is in jepardy, but also many other areas such as Western Europe and other lenders/investors worldwide. A collapse and/or revolution in Mexico will hurt the rest of us. It is therefore in everyone's interest to restructure this debt situation by making a very special "Deed In Lieu Of Foreclosure" arrangement. This is commonly done on many mortgages today, why not on a international scale?
Actually, some of the details are very simple, such as US soverienity, the new borderline and cancellation of the debt. Some of the difficult portions are land titles, exchanges and the tremendous cooperation needed to make it as fair as possible. Some of the numerous benefits include eventual US citizenship for Baja residents, a decrease in the immigration problem, a land rush, a vast influx of developmant funds and huge new employment opportunities, especially in the border and Resort Areas. A United California could be the greatest place on Earth. California could reach a much higher destiny in the 21st century than anyone can imagine now. Freedom and prosperity that will not only will set the example for the rest of the world, but also help the rest of the world come closer to freedom and prosperity.
US Soverienity could take place very quickly and our state and federal forces could establish control with very little disruption. Security of this new border could be accomplished rapidly and relatively inexpensively by simply transfering existing facilities and personnel. Naval forces could maintain coastal security and a presence in such ports asEnsenada and others as new land facilities are constructed.
The new border would begin at the junction of the current border at the Colorado River, near Yuma, AZ, and extend approximately south to Isla Montagua at the mouth of the Rio Colorado at the north end of the Gulf of California, about 50 km. northeast of the fishing village ofSan Felipe. This border follows the Rio Colorado as it cuts through the Desierto Del Altar, an excellent natural boundary. It is much shorter than the current arbitrary, unnatural east-west border from Yuma to Mexicali to Tijuana, but it would still maintain an important link between Mexico and California. The rest of the border would simply be down the middle of the Gulf of California. The resort port ofCabo San Lucas sits at the south end of the Baja penninsula.
Cancellation of the crushing $100 Billion Debt would benefit Mexico enormously. Mexico would become a new country overnight. New devlopment there would also be enormous. Creation of new projects and jobs would also decrease the immigration problem. Perhaps a really mutually beneficial NAFTA could result, instead of The Current Situation. The western hemisphere would be greatly strengthened not only financially but also in spirit. A whole new age could dawn.
Title to all government lands would pass to the lenders & USA. That would be the easy part. Title to existing mortgaged private property could also be accomplished with a special computerized mortgage exchange program. Existing paid off private properties would remain as is. New financing for development could then begin. Some redistribution of lands to the poor not only of Baja, but also to the poor of Calif. and USA could accelerate development of many areas.
All previous additions to America have benefitted not only the USA, but also the rest of the world. America's strength and freedom will ultimately lead to peace, prosperity and freedom for the rest of the world. It is imperative that we all work towards this peaceful solution. It begins right here in California, by creating a new United California.
